The Cootamundry Creek Vineyard is situated on the outskirts of Cootamundra New South Wales on Salt Clay Lane. First planted in 1997 by Dr David Miller it gradually grew to be at the present stage of seven and a half acres, consisting of Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The first harvest was in 2000 and the wine was made by Wodonga Hill Winery in Young New South Wales. Subsequent vintages were made at CSU Wagga Winery until 2006 when Bidgeebong Winery Wagga undertook to make their wine. A licence for Cellar Door Sales was obtained in 2006 and since then the wines have been available for tasting and sale by appointment. Only wine ready for consumption is released for Cellar Door and general sale although less mature wines, especially Shiraz are released to those prepared to put them down....

Blokes and Sheila's Poker Run

The Cootamundra Nursing Home will host the third annual Blokes and Sheila's Poker Run. This fun and unique event sees motorcycle riders, pillion passengers, and motorists follow a set route around the region. Starting at the Family Hotel for registration and first card draw in the Poker run, the participants make their way through the Nursing Home grounds, to the delight of residents and staff as they gather to wave the convey of motorcycles off to the next destination. Lunch is at another secret location, and the third stop is always Wallendbeen Hotel, who are major supporters of the event. The riders and followers make their way to Cootamundra Ex Services Club for a night of entertainments with presentations of poker hand winners, unpredictable prizes and top music by Voodoo Shuffle. Bradmans Birthplace Museum Cootamundra

Granny Scholz, the mid-wife who delivered "The greatest batsman the world has ever known" Sir Donald Bradman on 27 August 1908, operated a small private hospital in the front room of the building at 89 Adams Street. The birthplace has been restored by Cootamundra Council. Sir Donald Bradman is an Australian sporting hero and his achievements on the cricket field from 1928 to 1948 are still among the world's best. He's the only Australian ever knighted for services to cricket. Cricket memorabilia on Sir Don and local Cootamundra teams are on display. Bradman lived at Yeo Yeo, between Cootamundra and Stockinbingal for the first few years of his life. Sir Donalds' grandparents are buried in Cootamundra Cemetery, Charles died in 1907 and Elizabeth in 1924....
