Pepper Tree Ridge B And B

1315 Rememberance Drive, Picton NSW 2571

Pepper Tree Ridge was built in the 1860s by the son of Alexander Berkeley Campbell, one of the pioneers of Stonequarry (Picton).

The name comes from the now century old pepper trees which grow around the homestead.

Set upon a ridge, the original house is Colonial/Victorian with double brick walls made from local materials. Originally the homestead was called Inverary, an extensive dairying property on the historic Razorback Mountain.

The verandahs, lofty rooms, and beautiful cedar panelled ceiling in the hallway are replicated in the sympathetic addition of an extra wing which makes extensive use of cedar joinery.

Close to Picton railway station, it was built for two lines of track and although it is not the first railway viaduct built in the state, it is considered unique because it is the oldest still in use today....
